Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Diagnostic Medical Sonography is a specialized healthcare major focused on using ultrasound technology to produce images of the body’s internal structures. Students in this program learn how to operate ultrasound equipment, interpret images, and assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. The curriculum combines classroom instruction in anatomy, physiology, and medical ethics with hands-on clinical training. Through lab work and real-world experience, students develop technical skills, attention to detail, and patient care techniques. A degree in diagnostic medical sonography prepares graduates for careers as sonographers in hospitals, clinics, or diagnostic imaging centers, playing a vital role in patient care and early detection of diseases.
