Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory therapy is a college major that prepares students to care for patients with breathing and lung problems. Students learn how to assess, treat, and manage conditions relating to the respiratory system. The program includes courses in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical equipment, along with hands-on clinical training in hospitals or healthcare settings. Respiratory therapy majors develop strong technical, critical thinking, and patient care skills. After completing the program, graduates are prepared to become licensed respiratory therapists and work in hospitals, emergency rooms, intensive care units, or home healthcare.
